EMS Camp

Due to the ongoing Covid19 pandemic and social isolation procedures, the 2021 EMS Camp has been cancelled. Please join us in 2022!

The North Dakota State College of Science and Sanford Health EMS Education (NDSCS/SHEMSE) Emergency Medical Services (EMS) Summer Camp is a program for high school-age youth, held at our Wahpeton campus.

Do you know someone considering working as an EMT or paramedic with an ambulance service or in a hospital? Or are they simply interested in exploring more about what EMS is all about? This is the perfect opportunity.

This hands-on summer activity will teach many components of the EMS system like using medical equipment, radios and ambulances (sorry, no driving with lights and sirens on) and what it's like to take care of people as a paramedic or EMT.

There are no certifications issued, because we want to focus on the activities rather than sitting in lecture. Our goals are to show you what it's like to work in EMS and how to begin working toward the training and education for a career in EMS.
