AHA Basic Life Support Course

  • Basic Life Support (BLS) Provider CPR (for healthcare professionals, nurses, assistants, aides and health occupation students) It teaches both single-rescuer and team basic life support skills for application in both prehospital and in-facility environments, with a focus on high-quality CPR and team dynamics. In the Instructor-led course, students participate in simulated clinical scenarios and learning stations. Students work with an AHA BLS Instructor to complete BLS skills practice and skills testing. Students also complete a written exam.
  • The AHA has renamed this class and no longer has separate "initial" and "refresher" classes.

AHA Basic Life Support Instructor Course

  • The AHA BLS Instructor course will instruct participants how to teach many American Heart Association courses, including: Heartsaver AED, BLS Provider CPR (Healthcare Provider), Basic First Aid, Pediatric First Aid, CPR for Friends and Family
  • This course is offered quarterly. To see if any sessions are scheduled and to register, click here.
  • The instructor will contact you upon registration.
  • You must have a current BLS for the HealthCare Provider CPR card to enroll in this course.  

AHA HeartSaver First Aid/CPR/AED Course

  • The AHA's HeartSaver First Aid CPR AED Course is a classroom, Instructor-led course designed to prepare students to provide first aid, CPR, and use an automated external defibrillator (AED) use in a safe, timely, and effective manner.
  • Upon successful completion of the course, including a first aid skills demonstration and a CPR and AED skills test, students receive a HeartSaver First Aid CPR AED course completion card, valid for two years.
